14. Social Secretary


The main purpose of this job is to organise social events to bring the players, officials and parents together in a social setting to enhance relationships within Pinnstars FC. Inviting local dignitaries to develop and improve Pinnstars FC’s relationships within the community or representatives from any sponsors of the club.

Who will I be responsible to?

  • Chairperson
  • Work in conjunction with fundraising officer

Ideally, you’ll need to be:

  • Easy to approach with good listening skills
  • Well organised
  • Confident and good at communicating
  • Enthusiastic and motivating
  • An organiser who enjoys putting events together

What you will do:

  • Plan and implement a social calendar, including

  1. A pre-season event;
  2. End of season awards event;
  3. A Christmas function;

  • Book venues and entertainment;
  • Ensure that risk assessments are completed and signed off
  • Ensure that your activities and events are inclusive
  • Work with the volunteers co-ordinator to arrange adhoc volunteers for each event

How much time will it take?

  • Approximately two hours a week, though there will be times where nothing will be required of you while other weeks would require much more commitment (eg, in the weeks leading up to a social event).
